Legion invites Helena, Mont., area veterans to discuss VA care

The American Legion invites all veterans in the Helena, Mont., area and their family members to a town hall meeting to discuss their VA care.





The meeting will be held on Oct. 23 at 7 p.m. inside the Lewis and Clark American Legion Post 2, located at 3095 Villard Avenue, Helena, Mont. 

The town hall event is one of about a dozen that the Legion will conduct around the United States this year. The Legion hosts these events to hear feedback from veterans about the quality of health care they receive at their local VA facility. 

Staff from The American Legion National Headquarters office in Washington, D.C., The American Legion Department of Montana, as well as representatives from VA and members of the Montana congressional delegation will be in attendance.

A veteran’s family must request a United States flag.

A flag is provided at no cost to drape the casket or accompany the urn of a deceased veteran. Generally, the flag is given to the next of kin. Only one flag may be provided per veteran. Upon the request of the family, an “Application for United States Flag for Burial Purposes” (VA Form 21-2008) must be submitted along with a copy of the veteran’s discharge papers. Flags may be obtained from VA regional offices and most U.S. Post Offices.
