Here is a recap of the eight regionals through two days:

Region 1: Northeast – Shrewsbury, Mass.

Unbeaten: Portland, Maine, and Braintree, Mass., Post 86

One loss: Rochester, N.H., Post 7; Essex, Vt., Post 91; Shrewsbury, Mass., Post 397; and Southington, Conn., Post 72

Eliminated: Cumberland, R.I., Post 14 and Ellington, Conn., Post 62

Five games on the slate for the Northeast and it started off with a wild one. Rochester posted four runs in the top of the seventh to take a 11-7 lead over Shrewsbury and needed every bit of that margin as Post 397 scored three in the seventh to fall just short. Shrewsbury returned in an elimination game to once again score double digits, and it was enough to eliminate Cumberland, 10-7. In the other elimination game, the two Connecticut teams squared off with Southington topping Ellington, 12-1. In the winners bracket, Braintree scored three in the top of the seventh to rally for a 4-2 win over Essex. Rochester couldn’t duplicate its offensive success from the morning contest and fell to Portland in the final game of the day, 2-1.

Region 2: Mid-Atlantic – Purcellville, Va.

Unbeaten: Wilmington, Del., Post 1 and Broad Street Park, N.J., Post 313

One loss: Severna Park, Md., Post 175; Vienna, Va., Post 180; Leesburg, Va., Post 34; and Souderton, Pa., Post 234

Eliminated: Spring City, Pa., Post 602 and Rockland, N.Y., Post 130

Broad Street rallied for three in the bottom of the seventh to walk off winners and stay unbeaten as Kyle Harrington hit a two-run shot to win it. In the other game of 1-0 teams, Wilmington fell behind 7-2, but put up seven runs in a dramatic sixth inning led by a three-run shot from Nate Thomas. In the other side of the bracket, Souderton and Leesburg easily dispatched Spring City and Rockland, respectively, to stay alive.

Region 3: Southeast – Asheboro, N.C.

Unbeaten: Randolph, N.C., Post 45 and Lyon County, Ky., Post 68

One loss: Troy, Ala., Post 70; Tallahassee, Fla. Post 13; Sumter, S.C. Post 15; and Parkersburg, W.V., Post 15

In the other elimination game, Parkersburg topped Wilmington, 3-2, in walk-off fashion, scoring three in the bottom of the seventh capped by a Jordan Batten single. Lyon County topped Tallahassee, 5-3, in a game between teams which won on Wednesday.

Tupelo has pitched 14 straight scoreless innings after posting a second shutout, this time over Gonzales. Austin King hurled a three-hit shutout. In the night’s final game, Bryant rallied for two in the sixth and one in the seventh to top Jefferson City, 3-2.

Region 5: Great Lakes – Napoleon, Ohio

Unbeaten: Danville, Ill., Post 210 and Midland, Mich., Post 165

One loss: Terre Haute, Ind., Post 346; Sheboygan, Wis., Post 83; Napoleon, Ohio Post 300; and Eau Claire, Wis., Post 53

Eliminated: Circleville, Ohio Post 134 and Mt. Prospect, Ill., Post 525

Eau Claire stayed alive in the opener with an impressive 12-4 win over Circleville. The hosts, Napoleon, fell behind 8-3 before scoring two in the fifth, three in the sixth, and loading the bases in the seventh, getting a hit by pitch to earn the victory and stay alive. In the winners bracket, Midland topped Sheboygan to move to 2-0. In the night game, Terre Haute loaded the bases in a 2-2 game in the bottom of the seventh and Danville's Gage Romack came through in the clutch to strike out three straight Hoosiers swinging to force extra innings. Three runs in the top of the eighth gave Danville the victory.

Rapid City followed with a 16-3 win to eliminate hosts Dickinson. Each of the first five batters in the Rapid City lineup posted multiple hits and Zachary Sumption had a homer and six runs batted in. In the unbeaten bracket, West Fargo received a three-hit gem from Tristen Roehrich to beat Millard West, 2-0. In the nightcap, Dubuque County was impressive in beating Omaha.

Region 7: Northwest - Missoula, Mont.

Unbeaten: Yakima Valley, Wash., Post 36 and Meridian, Idaho, Post 113

One loss: Cheyenne, Wyo., Post 6; Billings, Mont., Post 4; Juneau, Alaska, Post 25; and Waipahu, Hawaii
