As Eden Prairie, Minn., and Midwest City, Okla., advanced to today's championship game, an American Legion Baseball milestone was hit. When Roseburg, Ore., player Johnny Farrington knocked home Brandon Jackson in the second inning of Game 13, the World Series had seen its 10,000th run scored. The ball was autographed by the two players and will be displayed in the Major League Baseball Hall of Fame.

Game 12: Midwest City, Okla., 7, Las Vegas, 1

Midwest City, Okla., got a strong game from pitcher Kevin Hill, who struck out seven batters and put Las Vegas down in order four times, allowing his team to pull out a 7-1 win.

Coming into the seventh inning, Midwest City was only ahead by two runs before the team's No. 9 batter and designated hitter, Caleb "Clutch" Price hammered a three-run home run - his fifth this season.

"I love batting down the lineup," Price said. "I see it as an advantage to score some runs deep in the lineup, and I had runners on base, and we needed those runs to seal the win."

Midwest City's Dalton Bernardi and Turner Coon each had two RBIs.

"The young men executed to their game plan and played well," Midwest City coach Doug Weese said. "I thought they did a very good job against a very good ball club. We knew going in it today that it was going to be tough, and we hoped that would rise to the occasion. I'm really proud of them."

Midwest City (64-10) had seven runs and 13 hits. Las Vegas (48-16) had one run and five hits.

Game 13: Eden Prairie, Minn., 6, Roseburg, Ore., 2
Eden Prairie, Minn., remained undefeated in the Legion World Series by striking out Roseburg, Ore., 6-2.

Eden Prairie came up with clutch hitting, error-free defense and solid pitching. Catcher Matt Halloran hit a three-run home run, while pitcher Grant Soderberg allowed just two runs in eight and two-thirds inning to pick up the win.

"I felt really confident in my pitching, and my coaches did too," said Soderberg. "I threw a lot of change-ups and got hitters off balance so that was good. Our goal from the start was to get to the Legion World Series, and now we're here so we might as well win it."

Eden Prairie (39-7) had six runs and 12 hits. Roseburg (35-15) had two runs and 12 hits.
